Jeffery Archer
Like only the best novels do, Kane & Abel has left me
feeling a little down after reading the last page. That feeling is not from anything in the
story, but rather because it is over.
This novel was a departure for me from the type of novels I
usually read. I knew very quickly--maybe
a quarter of the way through--that it was going to be one of the best novels I
had ever read. I remember reading some
of the reviews when I was trying to decide if I wanted to read it, and was surprised
by how many people said it was the best novel they had ever read.
I wish I could give this novel six stars, and the fact that
I can only give it five, makes me want to take a star away from everything else
I've read, with the exception of a few.
I don't know about Mr. Archer's other novels (this is the only one I
have read), but his writing, at least in this novel, is on par with the great
Robert McCammon (my favorite author).
I can't recommend this novel highly enough, even if it's
outside the genres you normally read, because it definitely was for me. Here's the Amazon LINK.
