This is the first novel I have read by these authors, and I enjoyed it.  It is a monster story and a thriller.  I was reminded at times of the novel Amazonia, not because of any similarity in the storyline, but because small portions of the novel are located in the Amazon with similar descriptions.

I really liked the character, Pendergast, and a couple of the other main characters.  The writing was solid, and the story moved at a good pace.  Imagine a creature from deep in the Amazon hunting and killing in the halls and massive basement and sub-basement of the huge New York Museum of Natural History.
