Greyhound

GREYHOUND
Steffan Piper

Every once in a while you come across a book that will, at least in part, stay with you for the rest of your life. One example is To Kill A Mockingbird; another is Greyhound

Greyhound is about a cross-country bus trip that a 12 year old boy takes alone after his mother sends him off to live with his grandparents. The novel is set in 1981. The boy is white and he meets and then shares the trip with a young black man just out of prison that is also traveling across country.

The book is well-written, thought provoking, nostalgic, and refreshing. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel, and learned some things too. A really good book is often one in which you are better off when you finish than you were when you began. This is a novel I will read again.  5 stars. Here's the LINK
